The Subaru Legacy concept which was revealed at the 2009
Detroit Motor Show was a preview of the future styling
for the Legacy - one of the most important models in the
Subaru range.
Marking the 20th anniversary of the Subaru Legacy, the
concept was developed to highlight the Legacy's capabilities
and features Subaru's Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system
coupled with a 3.6 litre horizontally-opposed engine.
The exterior styling of the Subaru Legacy concept was
centered around the theme of "Presence". This
is underlined by the aggressive front bumper and distinctive
headlight arrangement. The deeply sculpted wheel arches
are intended to draw attention to the AWD drivetrain.
Helping keep the sides uncluttered are the small rear
view cameras positioned where the side mirrors usually
reside. It may not be the most exciting design, but the
car looks planted, solid and purposeful.
The interior layout of the Subaru Legacy concept features
four-seats and styling which which is designed to appear
high-tech and modern. Comfort and style are achieved with
a mix of touch-screens, cameras and modern surface coverings.
The high-tech look blends with comfort through four separate
seating areas, a high roofline and generous legroom for
all passengers. The center console features a large touch-panel
display which can be used for a variety of functions.
In-car entertainment is displayed on a number of monitors,
including the one in the center console, as well as one
in the rear of each front seat headrest.
