If there was an international award which recognized the
most ambitious and unrealistic concept cars 'under development',
then the lineup of STVs (Super Terrain Vehicles) from
Colorado-based Shadow Hawk Vehicles would certainly be
strong contenders.
That's not to say an 1,100 horsepower luxury off roader
with a 0-60 mph time of 3.5 seconds and a top speed of
208 mph doesn't sound enticing. It just doesn't sound
like it's even a remote possibility!
Shadow Hawk Vehicles have apparently got six different
models of their STVs under development. There's the Steel
Hawk, the Street Hawk, the Terra Hawk, the Desert Hawk,
the Armor Hawk, and the ominous sounding Battle Hawk.
Lets hope that if these things ever go into production
they get the challenging interior ergonomics sorted out.
At the moment it looks like only those over 8 feet tall
have a chance of seeing out the windscreen and touching
the pedals at the same time.
