The Rover 75 saloon was a design regarded by many as an
'old man's car', and it was. However, the Rover 75 Coupe
concept from 2004 was far more stylish. The lines of the
car would look just as comfortable if there were an Audi
or Mercedes badge on the grille.
At the time Rover intended to create the 75 Coupe concept
to mark the first 100 years of the Rover marque. However
as Rovers financial woes grew ever more apparent it seemed
that the 75 Coupe concept, as well as the MG
GT concept were Rover's swan song.
The Rover 75 Coupe concept was an elegant and understated
two-door expression of the 75 Saloon. The concept’s interior
strongly focused on Yew wood and Tan leather hide introducing
the style of designer furniture into the automotive lounge.
The Rover 75 Coupe concept featured frameless windows,
a completely new roofline, and a FWD platform.
