The Renault Trafic Deck'up from 2004 is a one-of-a-kind
van based concept which incorporates a safari inspired
open rear seating area.
The Traffic Deck'up's offroad capabilities are enhanced
by increased ride height, permanent 4 wheel drive and
large 20 inch diameter wheels, although a 135hp diesel
engine is maybe slightly too small for serious off-roading.
The Trafic Deck'up's versatile interior seating arrangement
allows all three passenger seats to swivel through 180°,
while the drivers seat remains stationary.
The open rear deck, complete with two fold away seats,
can be divided from the interior compartment by a roll
up glass window which hides in the roof of the Trafic
Deck'up, the rear deck can also be accessed through the
rear tailgate which hides a spare wheel.
The Trafic Deck'up's drivers side doors operate in a conventional
manner, while the passenger side rear side door opens
in suicide manner, eliminating the need for a center pillar
and so increasing accessibility.
The Trafic Deck'up's interior is high-tech whilst remaining
user-friendly. The Carminat navigation screen sits in
the centre of the wide beige dashboard matching the exterior
body colour. The functional, easily cleaned aluminium
floor and printed fabric seats give the Deck'up's interior
a modern feel.
