The Peugeot HYmotion3 Compressor is a three-wheel tilting
trike which blurs the line between a scooter and a car.
The vehicle was revealed at the 2008 Paris Motor Show.
Powering the Peugeot HYmotion3 Compressor is a hybrid
system which consists of a 125 horsepower petrol engine
which drives the single rear wheel, and a 3Kw electric
motor in each of the front wheels. The vehicle can be
driven in either all-petrol mode, all-electric mode, or
a combination of the two. To further improve fuel economy
the Peugeot HYmotion3 Compressor's engine is fitted with
stop-start technology.
The glass windscreen/roof panel of the Peugeot HYmotion3
Compressor is supported by two aluminium bars which run
the entire length of the seating area. These double as
rollover protection in the event of an accident.
Other innovative features of the Peugeot HYmotion3 Compressor
include a rearview camera, ride-by-wire controls, and
antilock brakes with a regenerative system for topping
up the batteries which power the electric motors.
