The Mitsubishi Concept Global Small is one of the vehicles
which was introduced at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show.
The concept - which features one of the dullest names
in concept car history - is designed to preview a new
compact passenger car that is planned for production in
March of 2012 at Mitsubishi's new factory in Thailand.
The Mitsubishi Concept Global Small was designed to offer
good maneuverability and intuitive operation. Additionally,
due to its small size, it was engineered to be efficient
in terms of packaging, and also offer seating for five
adults.
Powering the Mitsubishi Concept Global Small is a small
(1.0 - 1.2 litre) engine equipped with a regenerative
braking system. This engine also features a stop-start
system to further reduce fuel consumption. Mitsubishi
reckon that the Concept Global Small offers CO2 emissions
in the mid-90g/km range.
Other economical aspects of the Mitsubishi Concept Global
Small include a body shape that greatly reduces aerodynamic
resistance, lightweight materials, and reduced running
resistance in the engine, new-generation CVT (continuously
variable transmission), brakes, and tires.
Still, the Mitsubishi
Se-Ro concept was way cooler.
