If Mercedes ever chooses to blow-away the competition
in the off-road vehicle market, then perhaps it might
want to consider putting the Mercedes Hexawheel into production.
The design was dreamt up by Iranian designer Siyamak Rouhi
Dehkordi. Dehkordi proposes that the Hexawheel concept
is vehicle capable of cruising across the "mountains
and jagged areas" with ease.
Said to be the ideal mode of transport for people who
like to take "adventurous trips", the Hexawheel
is able to overcome the most challenging of obstacles
thanks to its flexible frame, unique structure and six-wheel
drivetrain.
Dehkordi has taken inspiration from animals with a flexible
backbone, such as the goat, and the joints that can be
found in insects - therefore it is able to effortlessly
climb over surfaces that solid-chassied vehicles could
not.
