The Lincoln MKR concept going on show at the 2007 Detroit
Motor Show is a four-door, four-seat luxury car designed
to show the future of Lincoln cars.
The Lincoln MKR concept is powered by an E85 ethanol fuelled
3.5 litre twin turbo
V6 developing 415 horsepower and 400 ft-lbs of torque,
this is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission driving
the 21" rear wheels. Other performance highlights
of the Lincoln MKR concept include, fully independent
suspension (MacPherson struts in the front), and Brembo
brakes.
The Lincoln MKR concept features 7 exterior design elements
which will feature on Lincoln products of the furture.
Not all the design cues will be used on every car, but
a selection will be used on every Lincoln product in order
to define the brands styling.
The 7 new design elements of Lincoln include:
- Clean and minimalist body surfaces
- Strong dynamic beltline
- Chamfered surface running parallel to the beltline
- Twin-port plunging "bow-wave" front grille
- Thin horizontal headlamps
- Thick C-pillar that blends into the roof
