The
Lancia Delta Concept is the product of Italian designer
Giangiacomo Barbero, it was produced for the 2006 'Stile
Italiano Giovani' car design competition.
The Delta concept is based on the existing Alfa Romeo
Brera platform with just a few modifications. Barbero's
aim was to design a car that could "express all of
the brands hallmark elegance, together with the
competitive spirit that made it celebrated in the 70s
and 80s." The original Lancia Delta is probably the
most popular (affordable) Lancia product with the largest
following and is is therefore a pretty good place to start.
The concept Lancia Delta, like the original is a 5 door
car, although on the 2006 concept the rear doors are well
hidden and actually open by sliding towards the rear of
the car. This gives the concept a more practical format
than a 3-door car and sleeker lines than a conventional
5-door.
