The Kia KND-5 was one of the concept vehicles displayed
at the 2009 Seoul Motor Show.
The KND-5 is an upmarket sedan which features the kind
of well thought out styling indicative of premium brands.
The KND-5 is a preview of the next generation production
sedan from Kia (codenamed VG) and is actually based on
the VG's platform. However, not only does the Kia KND-5
preview a new model it also gives an insight into Kia's
entire design direction. As Hyoung-Keun Lee, Senior Executive
Vice President & COO, International Business Division,
said of the concept, "The aggressive and sophisticated
KND-5 exemplifies Kia's futuristic design and values."
Stylewise the KND-5 is on a par with many far more expensive
rivals from the likes of BMW and Audi, although in order
to keep the costs down the fit, finish and overall quality
will almost certainly be significantly lower on the production
KND-5 than its more exclusive competitors. Still, it is
nice to see style coming into the budget end of the market.
Powering the Kia KND-5 concept is a 3.5 litre V6 engine
which should provide adequate power to accompany the sleek
styling.
