The Isuzu KAI concept was unveiled at the 1999 Tokyo Motor
Show.
The KAI, named after the Japanese character meaning 'revolution',
was designed to be a fully fledged off-roader. The KAI's
designers chose to give prominence to the separate chassis
rather than hide it under the sculpted body in order to
show its 4x4 credentials.
The Isuzu KAI concept featured 20" wheels, front
and rear independent suspension, and a 4WD four-speed
automatic transmission.
