The Lirica concept which Inovo Design presented to the
world at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show was a proposal for
a luxury 2+2 coupe.
Inovo Design is an Italy-based product and automotive
design consultancy which was established in 1995 by Maurizio
Ficcadenti.
In creating the Lirica concept the company set out to
create a vehicle which was modern in appearance and design,
but with classic proportions and layout.
This has resulted in a pleasant but relatively dull overall
shape. Yes it might not be ugly - and that's a good thing.
However it's also not interesting enough to really grab
your attention, and for a small company looking to make
a big splash that's not good. But then again, considering
the project went from sketches to prototype in just eight
weeks it's not a bad effort.
While the exterior of the Inovo Lirica could be counted
as a moderate success, the interior sadly looked like
something out of an 80's sci-fi movie. Even when you take
into account the virtual instrumentation displays and
integrated Windows XP system with Wi-Fi internet connection
it was poorly executed.
Mounted up front was a V8 engine which sent all its power
to the rear wheels. |
