The Hyundai HED-2 Genus concept is a midsize D-segment
car with an attractive and stylish exterior design. The
HED-2 Genus was unveiled at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show
where it was well received by both press and public alike.
The Hyundai HED-2 Genus featured an estate car profile,
and plenty of dramatic styling features which keeps the
eye interested. The side window design has a discreet
chrome trim bar running below the window line which ends
in a sharp tick at the rear. Instead of side mirrors,
the HED-Genus concept was equipped with rear-view cameras
mounted on small projections.
One of the more unusual features of the Hyundai HED-2
Genus was the retractable rear bench seat, this could
be doubled up with a sliding deck hidden within the rear
bumper to form an outside seating area.
Powering the Hyundai HED-2 Genus was a 2.2 litre inline
4-cylinder diesel engine. The car featured an AWD 5-speed
automatic transmission.
