The Fiat Uno Cabrio is a compact roadster concept based
on the new Fiat Uno platform.
The Fiat Uno Cabrio was designed for the Brazilian market,
and is set to make its debut at the 2010 Sao Paulo Motor
Show alongside a range of other Fiat concept and production
cars.
The Fiat Uno Cabrio is currently just a design study which
is being used to show off what is possible using the new
Uno's chassis. That doesn't mean Fiat won't be making
a convertible version of the Uno, but the existence of
the Uno Cabrio concept doesn't necessarily mean they will.
With the removal of the roof, and the reduction in chassis
rigidity, the Uno Cabrio prototype had to receive reinforcements
in various parts of its structure.
The Fiat Uno Cabrio also received new bumpers with a more
sporty appearance. The front is characterized by large
air intakes and the presence of a pronounced lip spoiler.
The tail lights and additional brake lights - positioned
in the in rear of the headrests - are illuminated by LED
technology for a cleaner, sleeker look.
The interior of the Fiat Uno Cabrio concept was inspired
by the appearance of vintage vehicles. Likewise, the three
spoke steering wheel is designed to look like that of
a classic race car. The seats feature four-point safety
harnesses.
Powering the Fiat Uno Cabrio concept is the same engine
found in the Punto T-Jet, a turbocharged 1.4 litre 16V
engine, with 152 hp power.
