The De Tomaso Panthera concept is a contemporary redesign
of the De Tomaso Pantera. The concept was created by German
Designer Stefan Schulze (see Vector
V8 Biturbo Concept), and is based on the mid-engine
V10 Lamborghini Gallardo platform.
The original De Tomaso Pantera was a wedge shaped Italian
supercar built during the 70's and 80's with production
ending in 1996. The original car was powered by a Ford
V8 engine fitted into the steel monocoque
chassis.
The word 'Pantera' means panther in Italian. For the 2007
Concept Schulze has modified the name with the addition
of an 'h' to create the 'Panthera'.
