The Dacia MC concept is the work of Andrus Ciprian, a
prolific design student from Romania. The MC concept was
created in the 3d modeling program 3D Studio Max and rendered
in Mental Ray. The concept was created independently from
Dacia and with no intentions for production. Instead it
is one man's idea for a unique vehicle for Dacia.
Dacia is a Romanian car manufacturer, and a subsidiary
company of Renault. And while the manufacturer might not
be too common outside of Eastern Europe, in Romania itself
the company enjoys huge popularity.
The MC concept was conceived as a muscle car for the Dacia
brand. The MC's styling was influenced by the Dacia 1310,
and this is most evident in the headlight and grille panel.
However in order to inject some excitement into the vehicle
and replicate the muscle car look, Andrus used some of
the latest vehicles from the land which invented the muscle
car as inspiration. Namely the Ford
Mustang Lee Iacocca, 2009 Dodge
Challenger, and the 2010
Camaro.
Due to the large engine compartment the proposed powerplant
is a large displacement V8 mated to a 6-speed manual transmission
driving the rear wheels.
The interior of the Dacia MC concept has seating for five.
