The Chrysler Atlantic concept was unveiled at the 1995
Detroit Motor Show. The Atlantic was a 1930's styled luxury
coupe designed to emulate the appearance of the Bugatti
Atlantic and Atalante coupes of the same era.
The steel body of the Chrysler Atlantic was styled by
Bob Hubbach, it was laid over a tubular chassis which
utilized front and rear subframes, as well as the suspension,
from the Dodge Viper.
Power for the Atlantic concept came from a straight 8-cylinder
engine formed from two 4 cylinder engines from the Chrysler
Neon.
Inside the Chrysler Atlantic concept the luxury continued,
with cream leather being the chosen trim for the seats
and dash. The inlay for the centre console and dash was
formed from a maroon carbon
fibre-look material, while the dials were designed
to imitate Swiss watches.
