The Chevrolet Corvette Nivola by Bertone was revealed
at the 1990 Geneva Motor Show. The Nivola was named after
Tazio Nuvolari, a famous Italian racing driver. Nivola
was his nickname.
The Nivola was powered by the same engine used in the
C4 Corvette ZR-1. However in the Corvette Nivola it was
repositioned behind the passenger compartment in a mid-mounted
location for better weight distribution.
Unusual design features of the Corvette Nivola included
luggage compartments concealed in the doors, and hydraulic-pneumatic
ride-height adjustable suspension.
The Corvette Nivola appeared six years after another Corvette
concept from Bertone, the Corvette
Ramarro.
