The Cadillac IMAJ concept which was revealed at the 2000
Geneva Motor Show was designed to be Cadillac's vision
of a luxury car for the European market. And because of
this it was styled by a European, the British designer
Simon Cox, who designed the car using the same razor sharp
lines used on the Cadillac
Evoq concept from 1999.
What is bizarre about the IMAJ concept is that while it
never went into production itself, many of the styling
features which were destined for Europe ended up on the
production Cadillac sedan models sold in North America.
The Cadillac IMAJ was a true Cadillac through and through,
from the luxurious interior fitted with hands free telephone,
internet access and heated/ventilated seats to the 425
horsepower 'Northstar' 4.2 litre V8 up front and 5 speed
automatic transmission. Although unusually for a Cadillac car
the IMAJ was equipped with an all-wheel-drive system.
