The BMW Wahnsinn ('insanity' in German) was a 2003 concept
motorcycle designed by Jiro Arborgh.
The BMW Wahnsinn is a fuel cell powered motorbike intended
for the urban rider. Its design is intended to highlight
advanced technology, while retaining the essence of conventional
motorcycles.
The BMW Wahnsinn is an attractive concept which uses an
unusual, single-sided, hub-centre steering system. The
bodywork, seat and engine cover has a sleek and clean
appearance which hides the majority of the mechanical
elements. At the rear of the BMW Wahnsinn concept, the
innovative brake light wraps around the single, central-exit
exhaust.
The Wahnsinn concept was developed with assistance from
designers at BMW Motorrad.
