The Alfa Romeo Diva made its debut at the 2006 Geneva
Motor Show. The product of a combined effort between Centro
Stile Alfa Romeo, Franco Sbarro's design school, Elasis,
and built by Carrozzeria GT, the Alfa Romeo Diva is a
mid-engined sports car featuring a carbon
fibre body and tubular spaceframe chassis.
The Diva was developed for performance, and to act as
a test bed for new materials and technologies.
The engineers at Elasis spent time working to make sure
the Alfa Romeo Diva has perfect weight distribution to
aid handling. The Diva also features a fabricated aluminium
double-wishbone suspension setup, a 3.2 litre V6, 6 speed
paddle shift gearbox, and a variable geometry exhaust
which alters the exhaust tone.
The Alfa Romeo Diva's styling is inspired by the legendary
Tipo 33 Stradale. The dramatic aerodynamic front nose
cone offers a huge amount of downforce while also exaggerating
the racing spirit of the Diva.
Access to the Alfa Romeo Diva is via gull wing doors,
and the sporting interior is spartan and functional. Interior
materials include steel, leather and aluminium.
